We have three vacancies for caseworkers/paralegals who will primarily work in the family law department. Work may also involve some civil litigation/personal injury and residential/commercial property. Successful candidates may be required to work in Walsall or our Colmore Row Office in Birmingham City Centre which will be opening later this year.

We need an audio typist / administration assistant providing clerical support to fee earning staff and performing general administrative duties. This includes typing of letters and witness statements and other documents from audio dictation; collecting and opening post, filing, etc.
Hours: 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
Applicants
must
be able to audio type quickly and accurately and manage typing work effectively, having a good command of written and spoken English;
be computer literate and profficient in the use of wordprocessing software such as Microsoft Word
be able to demonstrate the required typing ability in a typing test if called for interview
be able to organise, manage and prioritise their own work properly to make sure it gets done and done well;
be able to communicate very well with clients from all walks of life and indeed anyone who visits or telephones our offices;
have a good telephone manner and be able to present a friendly, polite, confident, up-beat and thoroughly professional image to anyone who comes into contact with the firm,
have a "can do" attitude, undertaking work with enthusiasm and making sure that work is completed to meet deadlines even if doing so overruns the formal working hours of 9am to 5:30pm;
in general be intelligent, capable of solving problems, friendly and lively in order to contribute to a pleasant and industrious working atmosphere.
It is not the firm's policy to offer training contracts to outside applicants. We only offer training contracts to caseworkers at the firm after they have demonstrated their ability to do a sufficient volume of good quality work. Caseworker vacancies are regularly advertised on this page.
We have a vacancy for a family law solicitor of 5 years PQ experience to work in a very busy family law team in Walsall or Birmingham City Centre.
It is a minimum requirement that applicants be members of the Family Law Panel.
Applicants must have the ability to think on their feet and work within a high pressure environment, providing an exceptional quality of service to clients while also being expected to undertake supervisory duties.
Applicants must have experience at conducting cases at the County Court themselves- such advocacy experience to include at least having represented clients at directions hearings and on some trials of issue/final hearings.
Applicants must be able to fit into a team and take direction and advice from senior colleagues.
Applications must be able to comply with existing procedures at the firm and any requirements imposed by the Legal Services Commission or Solicitors' Regulation Authority.
Initial package including basic salary and bonuses circa £40,000 p.a.
