Always report the incident to the police.
See your doctor immediately if you have sustained any injuries so that the injuries can be noted down by the doctor. Evidence of your injuries from the doctor can be used in court.
Arrange a place at a refuge by calling the national domestic violence helpline on 0808 2000 247 if a place has not been arranged for you by the police.
Seek immediate legal advice from a solicitor about getting protection from the courts.
