Proceedings against commercial tenants for non-payment of rent

If a commercial tenant defaults on the payment of rent the landlord, among other things, can issue a claim to recover that outstanding rent.

This is by far the most common remedy which landlords pursue and is often coupled with an application for possession based on forfeiture of the lease (dealt with under a separate heading).

There are also other remedies available to landlords such as peaceable re-entry onto the premises and distraint which are also dealt with under a different heading.
